We have a New Deacon!  Rev. Markjill A. Manalili

From a simple family in Dinalupihan, Bataan, the eldest son of Alfonso Manalili, and Myrna Atrero, was chosen by God in the Order of Deacons- Rev. Markjill A. Manalili. He was ordained last July 2, 2005 at St. Joseph Cathedral, Balanga City, Bishop Soc Villegas as the ordaining Bishop. The biblical text is …Binusog Niya ng Mabubuting bagay ang mga nagugutom.” Lucas 1:53a. He gave a thanksgiving speech about the mystery of “Dighay” as thanksgiving by-word of poor Filipinos and yet “Salamat sa Diyos” na Dighay. “Busog na Busog “ siya sa grasya ng Diyos at magpapabusog siya sa hapag ng Panginoon bilang Diyakono at Lingkod ni Kristo. Rev. Markjill, welcome to the Clergy Family! Mukhang nadaig mo pa kami sa Kabusugan; Heavy Weight Champion ka na!

Rev. Markjill is undergoing a process of Diaconal program for preaching; sacraments of baptism and other sacramentals; School Campus Ministry exposures for the youth; seminars and recollections. The parishes assigned for his program are St. Catherine of Siena, Samal; St. Peter of Verona, Hermosa; St. Dominic, Abucay, and St. Joseph Cathedral, Balanga. To prepare deeply for priestly ordination, an eight-day Ignatian retreat shall be experienced by Rev. Markjill. God willing, the ordination is set tentatively on November 21, 2005, the 28^th Birthday of our priest-to-be Rev. Marjill A. Manalili. We will pray for you!

Another Grace!

Mr. Arcangel Inton, Papal Awardee!

After the sad death of Rev. Fr. Leonardo Peña, although a moment of grief came to Bataan, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, bestowed on us the joy and blessing of giving Mr. Arcangel Inton, well known as “Lolo Inton” the papal award of Knighthood of St. Sylvester, Pope. His recognition rite will be held on August 11, Thursday, 4:00 p.m., at the Parish of St. Catherine of Siena, Samal, Bataan. Lolo Inton has been with us for so long for all sorts of reasons-Chancery Office, Church lands, Diocesan functions, Choir Ministry, and most especially his exemplary life of prayer and witnessing. Congratulations Lolo Inton. You deserve the best!

New Assignments

The Parish of Our Lady of the Pillar will never be orphaned because of Fr. Leo’s death. Now, sent by the Bishop, Rev. Fr. Ernesto De Leon is the new Parish Priest of Pilar. Rev. Fr. Camilo Pacanza will take San Ramon Parish after his sabbatical journey. Good Luck for the new challenges in the ministry.
